Character: Ashstar
Gender: Tom
Clan: ShadowClan
Position: Leader
Appearance: Average in size, Ashstar's pelt is ginger and brown striped, and is short furred. Beneath this pelt lies a large amount of muscle, as he is quite built and powerful, his long legs a necessity when navigating himself through ShadowClan's swampy bogs. The toms tail is long and narrow, and his chest is quite broad, and is a lighter shade of ginger compared to the rest of his body. Ashstar's muzzle, ears, and paws are of average size, but he has extremely vibrant blue eyes which seem to pierce into your soul.
Personality: Sharp tongued, and short tempered, Ashstar is definitely not the kind of cat you want to mess with. He tends to become annoyed quite easily, and his amount of patience is extremely low, causing him to be especially bad tempered on slow, and less than efficient days. Ashstar is honestly a force to be reckoned with, and it's best to stay on his good side when he's having a meltdown.
Despite this, Ashstar is actually a fairly noble leader, taking pride in his clan's strength and accomplishments. He sees his clan mates as equals and isn't afraid to praise his loyal warriors on a short notice. As leader, he believes that his clan is far stronger and more deserving then the other two clans, despite the three being just as equal. Everything is about pride with Ashstar, and although he can be quite ambitious, he follows the Warrior Code extremely closely.
Truthfully, Ashstar does not believe in neither helping other clans, nor stealing from other clans, believing that the cats should deal with problems within the clans themselves. On his part, the tom has never been known to seek another clan for help, and would only do so if it meant life or death for his clan. Ashstar is a very brave tom as well, not afraid to risk his own life if it means protecting his clan. On the outside is a tough, bad tempered tom, but on the inside is a loyal and brave leader trying to do what he thinks is best for his clan.
History: Born an only kit, Ashstar [Ashkit then] was very lonely growing up. His mother Swallowtail, and his father Rubblefur took good care of him, however, and the two helped him overcome his lonliness. Seeing how skilled Ashpaw was at fighting, the ShadowClan leader took a deep interest in him, and when Ashcloud finally became a warrior, he was watched thoroughly, becoming deputy after the old deputy grew to old to serve any longer. After the death of the leader, Ashstar became leader, and has been ShadowClan's leader ever since.
IC: [From this site] The day was a bright and sunny one, without a single cloud hovering among the bright blue sky. Birds chirped from afar, and a gentle breeze blew nearby, lightly ruffling Ashstar's ginger and brown striped pelt. Valiantly he sat near the fresh kill pile, his head high, and his expression serene, pleased that prey wasn't nearly as scarce as it had been not long ago. His ears flickered slightly at the memory, as he had been quite unnerved to see only a few skinny mice and voles, on what was normally a usually well stocked pile of freshly killed prey. The sight had startled him honestly, and when his fellow clan mates had begin to show signs of a lack of nourishment, he knew he had to take action.
Honestly, Ashstar had never considered himself an expert hunter, or anything of the sort, as he was more prone as a fighter, but he wasn't about to watch his clan starve. He knew his warriors were giving it their all, this was without a doubt something he was absolutely sure of. Ashstar knew the warriors of his clan were more than capable of hunting, as they had always returned with plentiful prey before. Seeing them return with only meager amounts of prey told him that something was wrong, something most likely associated with the killings going on every moon. Clearing his mind for a moment, the BreezeClan leader began sheathing and unsheathing his claws, his temper beginning to rise at the thought of the cowards that dared to kill defenseless Queens, and take lives of his fellow clan mates.
"How dare they." He growled quietly. Ashstar's tail thrashed about wildly, and for a moment he could swear that he was beginning to see red. Murderers, that's all those pieces of fox-dung are. He thought angrily. If I ever catch the cat's that are doing this they'll be sorry, because i'll make crow-food out of them. I'll skin them alive and tear the pelts off of their backs! I'll make them wish they had never been born! In a wild act of fury, Ashstar lifted a paw, his sharp claws unsheathed, and sent a large dusty rock nearby, flying across camp into a clump of bracken. Breathing heavily he muttered curses to himself, trying his best to calm down. The very idea of an unknown force being able to kill cats whenever they felt the need to, drove Ashstar crazy. No one, not a single soul had the right to do such a thing, and the fact that it was happening in the other clans as well, unnerved him further.
Closing his eyes for a moment, Ashstar let out a deep, frustrated sigh. He knew that getting angry about it wasn't going to solve the problem, in fact it would probably just make things even worse. The last thing he needed was more trouble, especially when things had just started to look up again. Clearly the ginger and brown tom's hunting efforts were proving successful, as he had taken things upon himself to hunt daily as well, leaving his deputy in charge while he was out. Sullenly, Ashstar glanced down at the fresh kill pile, noting the rabbit he had caught. The fresh kill pile was well stocked for once, and while he had the option, the BreezeClan leader didn't feel like eating right now. Hunger was the last thing on his mind as of now, especially after his rampage earlier. He was a bit more relaxed now, but the dangerous threat was hanging over the toms head like a dark eerie cloud.
Still, as leader, Ashstar wasn't about to let his clan see him shaken and worried. It was his job to hold his clan together, and if his fellow clan mates saw him panicking, most likely they'd start to panic as well. Preventing further chaos was at the top of his list of priorities that he needed to take care of, as well as finding a way to protect BreezeClan from the hidden assassins that attacked every moon. He needed to keep things in check, and set a good example, and this was what he was going to do, now matter how difficult the task proved to be. Disdainfully, Ashstar shifted from his sitting position and stood, forcing a smile to form across his muzzle. Hopefully a friendly chat with one of his fellow clan mates would help brighten up his mood, and help him forget about the ever present challenges that would soon have to be faced.
